Mediation to Resolve a Divorce
March 20th, 2019
Mediation is a way to resolve a divorce by reaching voluntary agreements through the assistance of a neutral mediator.
A mediator is a pro at helping people to reach agreements who can’t do so on their own. By guiding a couple through all the necessary decisions to complete a divorce, an attorney mediator can help couples avoid involvement of courts and combative attorneys.
So what is an attorney meditator and how can they help with the divorce process?
An attorney mediator is a person who is both trained as a mediator and is licensed to practice law. An attorney mediator can tell you what the law is and identify legal issues in a divorce, but cannot advocate for or against either spouse or provide legal advice to either spouse about their agreements.
